Champions of Books for Babies ... and Toddlers, Too!
Southwest Human Development is a leader in the field of early childhood development and the promotion of early literacy. One way we do this is through the distribution of 100,000 books, free of cost, by more than 40 programs.
But the work we do is more than just giving away books. Our early literacy programs like Reach Out and Read and Raising A Reader strive to provide the tools families need to gain competence and confidence as a child's first teacher and to ensure a child's success in school and later in life. Southwest Human Development's "Champions of Books for Babies ... and Toddlers, Too!" is a membership-based fundraising platform that supports our early literacy initiatives. Additionally, you as a Champion help us achieve our goal of putting new books into the hands of every one of the 55,000 babies born in Maricopa County each year. The Champions are people who care deeply about young children and the promotion of early literacy skills. Each membership is based on a three- to five-year commitment and all donors will be recognized in the Book of Year, on the Books for Babies ... and Toddlers, Too! website, and on a special donor recognition wall at Southwest Human Development.
